Galaxy S25 Users: One UI 8.5 Beta Rolls Out in Phases This December
Galaxy S25 users can expect One UI 8.5 beta in two phases. Visual redesigns, priority notifications, and battery saver tools arrive soon.

The awaited One UI 8.5 update from Samsung for the Galaxy S25 series is now likely to start its journey next month instead of this one. The industry insider Tarun Vats has dropped a note on X (previously Twitter) that Samsung will be doing a phased beta rollout and the first step will be the batch starting on December 8.
The second step is rumored to extend the availability to India and Poland, probably starting on December 22. Furthermore, a new beta version for the Galaxy S25 series has been discovered on Samsung’s internal test servers, which indicates that the update is very close to being available for public release.
One UI 8.5 is bringing in a lot of new features. For instance, the camera section is going to be more interesting for the users who work in the pro mode as now they will be able to use the new Pro presets that can be shared with others. The Network Battery Saver feature intends to cut the standby power through letting the background network activity go down. Priority Notifications will be a new feature that would let users differentiate between important and regular notifications. There’s also talk of Samsung repositioning the search bar to the bottom in quite a few in-house apps, thus making it easier for users to access it.
Some of the changes are 3D app icons and three new clock designs for the lock screen. The quick settings panel will undergo a complete overhaul, giving users the option to change the arrangement of the settings according to their preference.
Samsung is about to release One UI 8.5 for all the devices that have already been upgraded to One UI 8. This includes almost all the Galaxy S series sold since 2022, and the mid-range models from 2023 onwards.
